3.- Student accommodation in Seville
Finding accommodation in Seville can be a bit difficult, because this is one of the most important university centres in Spain, there are many international students and it is also a very touristic city.
We recommend that you look for accommodation well in advance before coming to Seville.
Maus School students can ask us anything they need when they are looking for accommodation: help to read and understand the contract, if the location is good or not, doubts about the price and expenses, etc.
To find accommodation in Seville, you can visit popular websites such as idealista.com or pisocompartido.com. There are also companies specialised in student accommodation such as www.roommatesevilla.com, we recommend you to contact them!
Here are some suggestions for student flats, which are designed so that you feel happy, comfortable and relaxed during your time in Seville.
Flats are shared with other young international students like you.
Living in a shared flat is an excellent opportunity to make friends and share your experience in Seville.
All these flats are located in the centre of Seville. Each flat has between 2 and 4 single bedrooms, 1 or 2 bathrooms, a living-dining area with a TV and a generously equipped kitchen for people who enjoy cooking. Some of them also have a terrace and parking.

About our Spanish teachers
Our teachers are native Spanish speakers, linguists, and are qualified by the Instituto Cervantes.
They are outstanding professionals, young but with years of experience of teaching Spanish. You’ll find that they are always smiling because they love what they do. Spanish lessons at Maus School are always practical and engaging. From day one, our teachers will encourage you to participate and feel part of the class.
They’ll make sure that you understand from the very beginning what your language learning journey will look like.
Our teaching system
At Maus School learning is organised according to an official, internationally-recognised system: the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CERF) (levels A1 (complete beginner) to C2 (proficient)), which is also followed by the Instituto Cervantes.
This European system of 6 levels (A1 – A2, B1 – B2, C1 – C2) allows language learning to be well-organised so that classes are practical, varied and have a perfect amount of time dedicated to each language skill.
Grammar is well-structured and incorporated into Spanish classes so you can perfect the skills of reading, listening, speaking and writing Spanish correctly and fluently. You have our promise that you’ll never get bored 😉
In addition, we constantly contextualise language within Spanish culture, so you learn all about it.
We’ll teach you about history, art, literature, customs, food and festivals. After all, learning a language means experiencing the culture and seeing the world in a different way.
Maus School S.L. is officially registered in Spain as a Spanish Language Teaching Centre.
On completion of your course, you’ll receive your Level Certificate with all the details of your course (the type of course, level, number of hours, etc).
About your level
If you’re not sure what level of Spanish you have, find out with our placement test!
- If you’re in Seville, you can do a placement test at the school with our teachers any day Monday to Friday between 10am and 1:30pm. You’ll need about 20 minutes.
- If you’re not in Seville, find out what level you are with our online test.
Calendar and timetables
All our in-person and online courses are available non-stop all year round, with the exception of public holidays in the Spanish school calendar and the month of August when in-person courses are not available (online courses are).
You can start your course at any time. All you need to do is contact us through our contact form and, if necessary, take a placement test.
When you have classes will depend on the course you wish to take, your level of Spanish, the time of the year, etc.
Our in-person intensive, semi-intensive and DELE preparation courses are available in the mornings, and classes take place between 9am and 2pm.
Our in-person extensive courses are available in the afternoons between 4.30pm and 9pm.
Our online courses are available in the afternoons between 4.30pm and 9pm (Spanish time).
5.- Spanish online courses. Group classes in real time…in your home!
You’ll have all the advantages of being in a class with your classmates and teacher from wherever you are in the world.
Distance, time and location are no longer barriers to learning Spanish in a quick, effective and fun way!
Our online Spanish courses are designed to imitate the face-to-face classroom environment.
Our classes are personalised to students; rest assured you won’t be expected to simply learn through using apps or by memorising grammar without ever practising Spanish with a real person.
Our online Spanish courses allow you to learn in a practical way. You will practise with other students and be guided by a teacher who is attentive to your needs at all times.

We organise activities and trips every weekend, chosen carefully so that our students enjoy themselves to the full. Every week is different!
Our Culture&Fun programme is not designed to just teach you facts like when the Alhambra in Granada was built. Instead, you’ll have the chance to actually visit it, feel it, and never forget it.
You’ll visit the most famous tourist attractions and places in Spain and Portugal, and go to the best beaches and parties.
With our help, you’ll learn about and understand our customs.
You’ll also experience and come to understand our culture through our eyes, not just those of a tourist.
We’ll take you to see breathtakingly beautiful landscapes, to gigantic castles from Game of Thrones, to the Caves of Wonder, and to Carnival Parties that last all day, all night and then all the following day…
You’ll enjoy magical party nights, visit unique landmarks, discover secret villages frozen in time, bungee jump from a 30-metre bridge, and climb a mountain in the middle of the sea from where you’ll see wild monkeys, a sea and an ocean, two continents and three countries.
Many activities are completely free and the rest are so cheap that your only expenses will be entrance to a few monuments, MausBus, etc.

Test to evaluate your current knowledge of Spanish
If you wish to enrol at Maus School, we need to test your Spanish level to be able to assign you to an appropriate group. You can take the test in person at our school in Seville, or you can do the test online and receive the results by email.
It’s not necessary to take the placement test if you’re a complete beginner; if this is the case please get in contact with us directly.
8.- About Us
Direction and Coordination of studies
Juan Ramón Gallardo is the director, owner and manager of Maus School.
You can talk to him about everything you need, in every way, during your stay in Seville and at Maus School.
Juan Ramón has a degree in Communication (U. of Seville), a Masters in Creative Writing (U. of Seville) and has been working since 2007 in various positions in television and film, specialising in audiovisual writing and television scriptwriting. In 2011 she founded Maus School together with Rosa López, where, among other things, she is in charge of the Management and the Cultural Activities Programme.
Rosa López is the director and coordinator of studies. You can talk to her about anything related to your learning, your level of Spanish, your goals and needs, etc.
Rosa has a degree in English Philology (U. of Seville) and a Master’s degree in ELE (Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, U. Pablo de Olavide) as well as being an official examiner and preparer for the DELE exam of the Instituto Cervantes.
She has been an ELE teacher since 2006 at various institutions such as the University of Pablo de Olavide and the University of Chapel Hill (North Carolina, USA), among others. In 2011, together with Juan Ramón Gallardo, she founded Maus School to pursue her passion for teaching Spanish.
Secretariat and Administration
Julieta Llarrull is a native of Argentina and has been working in Maus School’s Secretariat and Administration since 2017.
You can talk to her for anything you need about the administration and running of the school and you can also ask her for any information you need about the city of Seville.
Julieta started at Maus School as a student of the English courses, but little by little she became part of the Maus School team, where she is currently secretary and administrator.
Teachers
Pedro Coco has been a Spanish teacher at Maus School since 2013. You can talk to him about anything related to your learning, your level of Spanish, your goals and needs, etc.
Pedro has a degree in Hispanic Philology and a Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the University of Burgos (both degrees with extraordinary end-of-studies awards), a Master’s degree in Audiovisual Translation from the University of Cadiz and an Architecture degree from the University of Seville. He is an official DELE examiner and trainer for levels A1 to C2. He is the creator of the ELE manuals (levels B2 and C1) for the Bachelor in Philology at the Ateneum University of Gdansk and external proofreader for the Master in Audiovisual Translation taught by UDIMA and ISTRAD. He is a regular contributor to the Spanish cultural magazines Ritmo and Mundoclásico.
Juan Manuel Marrufo has been a Spanish teacher at Maus School since 2020.
Juanma holds a degree in History (U. of Seville) and a Master’s Degree in Teaching Compulsory Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching, as well as a degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) accredited by the U. of Barcelona.
He is an official examiner and preparer of DELE exams. He has been an ELE teacher since 2012 and has worked in different institutions.
He also currently directs and presents a podcast on Cinema and in 2023 he published his first novel.
Janire Rodríguez has been a Spanish teacher at Maus School since 2023.
Janire holds a degree in Hispanic Philology (U. of the Basque Country) and a Master’s Degree in Teaching (U. of Seville). After her Erasmus in Italy, she has worked as an ELE teacher in several institutions such as the Language Club of the Vitoria City Council, The Tiffin Girls’ School in London and the Quevedo Colegio Español.
She is currently completing a Master’s degree in ELE (University of Seville), participates in a theatre workshop and is a member of the Poesía & Letras collective.
Vicente Bueno has been teaching Spanish at Maus School since 2023.
Vicente has a BA in English Studies (U. de Castilla-La Mancha) and a MA in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and Other Modern Languages (U. de Sevilla).
He was a Language Assistant with the European Solidarity Corps in Laval (France) and since then he has been teaching Spanish and also English in various institutions.
